| Nun ist das Jahr zu End’ gebracht |
| bis an die letzte Mitternacht, |
| hat uns gebracht viel Freud’ und Leid |
| und näher an die Ewigkeit. |
| Das alte Jahr geht still dahin, |
| das neue schweigt im Anbeginn. |
| Wir wissen nicht, was kommt, was wird, |
