| Meet in her aspect and her eyes; | I min och blick, hvad skärast fanns, | |
| Thus mellowed to the tender light | Så vekt, så skönt, så mildradt, att | |
| Which Heaven to gaudy day denies – | Dess glans af dagrar blott ej vanns. | |
| One shade the more – one ray the less | En stråle bort, en skugga mer, | |
| Had half impaired the nameless grace | Och borta vore det behag, | |
