.
While earth rolls onward into light,   ke sur la tuta mond-teren'
Through all the world her watch is keeping,   la sankta eklezio Via
And rests not now by day or night.   staradas firme ĉe posten'.

3. As o’er each continent and island   3. Ruliĝas tero, brilas lumo
The dawn leads on another day,   de ne-ĉesanta maten-glor'.
The voice of prayer is never silent,   Leviĝas laŭdo, preĝ-parfumo
Nor dies the strain of praise away.   konstante, kiel dolĉ-odor'.

4. The sun that bids us rest is waking   4. Ekdormas ni post sun-subiro;
Our brethren ’neath the western sky,   gefratoj en la okcident'
And hour by hour fresh lips are making   vekiĝas kun novtag-aspiro
Thy wondrous doings heard on high.   Vin glori per viv-elokvent'.

5. So be it, Lord; Thy throne shall never,   5. Formortos mondaj imperioj,
Like earth’s proud empires, pass away:   sed Via regno kreskos plu.
Thy kingdom stands, and grows forever,   Al Vi sin cedos dinastioj,
Till all Thy creatures own Thy sway.   Venkinto estos vi, Jesu'!
