ergreift es mit wildem Weh;   ŝipisto ektremis de l' kanto,   It effects with woe sad might;   lin kaptas ve' de ekzalt'.   Angores feri tenent,   Ŝipisto dum sia vetur’;   Is tranced with the sad sweet tone,   kaptiĝas per stranga dolor',
er schaut nicht die Felsenriffe,   kaj blinda por ĉiu danĝero   He does not see the rocky slip,   Li ja la rifojn ne vidas',   Non videt scopulos ille,   Rifaron li ne priatentas,   He sees not the yawing breakers,   la rifon li tute ignoras.

                            3) Mi, Manfred Retzlaff, enmetis la duoblan
punkton post la vorto "kredas". Ĝi mankas
en la origina traduko de Paul Christaller.
