aus einer Wurzel zart,	el rozarbust' de Di'.	Sprung from a tender root,	laŭ vorto de profet'
wie uns die Alten sungen,	Aŭguro de profeto	Of ancient seers' foreshowing,	El la Jiŝaja ŝoso
von Jesse kam die Art	rakontis jam pri ĝi.	Of Jesse promised fruit;	ekkreskis kun impet'.
und hat ein Blümlein bracht	Naskiĝis rozfloret'	Its fairest bud unfolds to light	Ĝi venis, hela Flor',
mitten im kalten Winter,	meze en vintra nokto	Amid the cold, cold winter,	en frida tempo vintra
wohl zu der halben Nacht.	laŭ diro de profet'.	And in the dark midnight.	Je noktomeza hor'.
