				An ancient legend of the Rhine

Ignoro, quid id sibi velit,	Ich weiß nicht, was soll es bedeuten,	Min kaptas malgaj' en la koro,	I do not know what it signifies.	I cannot divine what it meaneth,
Tristissimus cur sim,	daß ich so traurig bin;	pro kio tia trist'?	That I am so sorrowful?	This haunting nameless pain:
Antiqui aevi fabellam	ein Märchen aus alten Zeiten,	Fabel' el antikva foro	A fable of old Times so terrifies,	A tale of the bygone ages
Cur saepe volverim.	das kommt mir nicht aus dem Sinn.	ne lasas de mi kun persist'.	Leaves my heart so thoughtful.	Keeps brooding through my brain:

Auro nitet gemma frontis,	ihr goldnes Geschmeide blitzet,	la ora ornamo ridas;	Her beautiful golden attire glances,	Her golden jewels are shining,
